    This morning we enjoy a walking city tour of Krakow and its many sights, then for those inclined enjoy dinner at a local brew house or at one of the many restaurants that specialize in Polish food.

    Krakow - Brno

    This morning we depart by coach to Auschwitz, the former concentration camp of Nazi Germany, before continuing onto the Czech Republic,travelling  through  to the large  Agriculture region  in the Czech Republic and the city of Brno. On arrival into Brno we visit the Zetor Tractor Factory.

    Our tour today features a visit to the famous Salt Mines of Krakow, we then visit a local chemical and fertilizer distributer.

    In the afternoon we look at agriculture in the surrounding area, as Poland has always been known as the breadbasket of Europe.

    Tonight free to enjoy the many restaurants and bars that Krakow has to offer.

    Brno

    Generally, Czech farms are larger and better equipped than in Poland, our first visit is to a 20000 Ha Grain and Cattle farm (US owned). Here we meet with the farm manager for a tour and discussion. After lunch at the village of Kromeriz we visit a Czech-owned local farming family who farm of 1000Ha property.

    Afternoon visit to a local Brewery for afternoon beer tasting before we coach back to Brno.

    Tonight’s Dinner is at a local Winery, which includes wine tasting and a special dinner in a wine cellar with folklore entertainment.

    Brno - Bratislava

    Free morning in Brno before we  continue to the Slovakian Capital Bratislava located on the banks of the Danube River and the Carpathian Mountains with its rich vineyards. Bratislava has a 2000-year history dating back to the Celtic times. The city has been part of the Roman Empire and over the centuries attracted royal families such as the Hasburgs and seen coronations of Hungarian Kings. However, the last century was not kind to Bratislava, its multiculturalism and charm was destroyed during world War II, followed by 40 years of Communism and in the course of the these tears many have forgotten Bratislavas legendary past. Recently the city has undergone a great reconstruction and cultural reawakening and made an amazing comeback, our city tour features the freshly renovated Old Town,on arrival we enjoy an afternoon city tour

    Our farming visits today commence with a visit to a large local farming operation of 4500 Ha, cropping Wheat, Barley, maize, Canola, Poppy seed, Sugar Beet and Cattle. After Lunch we visit a prime beef cattle operation.

    We say goodby to Slovakia and continue by coach through the countryside and plains to Szeged in Hungary, we visit Lazlo Czeggged who is currently conducting a EU funded programme on Drought tolerant Wheat.

    Todays visits include Paprika Plantation and Manufacturing farm as this area is famous for Paprika production,we then visit a local grain farm and flour mill before travelling to the Hungarian Capital, which is bisected by the River Danube. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest. A funicular runs up Castle Hill to Buda’s Old Town, where the Budapest History Museum traces city life from Roman times onward. Trinity Square is home to 13th-century Matthias Church and the turrets of the Fishermen’s Bastion, which offer sweeping views.
